Crop and Aspect Ratio is a free image cropper that runs entirely in your browser with nothing uploaded. Drag a crop box over your image, move and resize it, and lock it to a ratio such as square, 4:3, 16:9 or 9:16, or crop freely. The crop is taken from the original full-resolution image and downloaded as a PNG or JPEG.

Files are processed in your browser and never uploaded.

What this tool does

Drag and resize a crop box over your image

Drag a box over the image and pull its corners to size it. What is inside the box is what you get.

Lock to 1:1, 4:3, 16:9 and other ratios, or crop freely

Aspect ratio locks the box to Free, Square 1:1, 4:3, 3:4 or 16:9, so a profile picture or a video thumbnail comes out the right shape.

Crops from the full-resolution original

The crop is taken from the full-resolution file, not from the preview on screen, so a crop of a 12-megapixel photo is still sharp.

Works with touch on phones

Touch works properly on a phone: drag to move the box and pull its corners to resize.

PNG or JPEG, nothing uploaded

Save as PNG or JPEG. The image is cropped and written by your browser and never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded?

No. Cropping happens entirely in your browser, so the image never leaves your device.

Which aspect ratios can I use?

Free crop or locked ratios including square 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 16:9, 9:16, 3:2 and 2:3. The box keeps the chosen shape as you resize it.

Does it keep full quality?

Yes. The crop is taken from the original full-resolution image, not the smaller on-screen preview, so the result stays sharp.

Can I crop on my phone?

Yes. Drag inside the box to move it and drag a corner to resize, with touch supported.

Which formats can I save?

PNG to keep maximum quality, or JPEG for a smaller file.
