Resize Image to Exact Size lets you change any image to exact pixel dimensions entirely in your browser, with nothing uploaded. Set the width and height, lock or unlock the aspect ratio, stretch to the exact size, crop to fill, or fit with a padding colour, or compress to a target file size as JPEG, then download the result as PNG or JPEG.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded when I resize them?

No. The image is resized entirely in your browser on your device, so nothing is uploaded and it works offline.

How do I keep the aspect ratio?

Turn on Lock ratio. With it on, changing the width sets the height automatically (and the other way round), so the image is never stretched out of shape.

What is the difference between Stretch, Fill and Fit?

Stretch forces the exact size and may distort the image. Fill scales up and crops the overflow so it covers the whole size. Fit scales the image to sit inside the size and pads the rest with your chosen colour.

Will resizing reduce the quality?

Making an image smaller stays crisp. Making it much larger than the original can look soft, since there are no extra details to invent. High-quality smoothing is used either way.

Can I resize for a specific platform?

Yes. Type the exact pixels you need, such as 1080 by 1080 for a square post or 1920 by 1080 for a banner, and pick Fill or Fit to control any cropping.

Can I hit a target file size?

Yes. Set Save as to JPEG and type a Max KB value. Just type a Max KB value and the tool switches Save as to JPEG for you, then tries different quality levels to download the best-looking version under your target. (PNG is lossless, so a size target only applies to JPEG.)
