Colour Picker from Image lets you grab colours from any image entirely in your browser with nothing uploaded. Move over the image to preview the colour under the pointer, then click to pick it and copy the HEX, RGB or HSL value. Picked colours are kept in a row so you can build up a palette.

Files are processed in your browser and never uploaded.

How to use Colour picker from image

  1. Add your file

Drop your image file onto the upload area, or tap the area to choose it from your device.

  2. Run it

Press Stop picking. The button stays disabled until there is something to work on, and each file shows its own progress and result.

  3. Start over any time

Nothing is saved on a server, so reloading the page clears everything.

What this tool does

Hover to preview, click to pick any pixel

Move over the image and the colour under the pointer is previewed. Click and that exact pixel is captured.

Get HEX, RGB and HSL with one-tap copy

Each pick gives you HEX, RGB and HSL together, with a copy button on each so you take only the format you need.

Keeps a row of picked colours as a palette

Picks stack up in a row underneath, so you can build a palette from several parts of the same photo before you copy anything.

Works with touch on phones

Touch works the same way on a phone: drag to preview and lift to pick, so it does not need a mouse.

Runs in your browser, nothing uploaded

The image is decoded and read by your browser, so it is never uploaded and the page works with no connection.

Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded?

No. The image is read entirely in your browser, so it never leaves your device.

What colour values do I get?

For any pixel you get the HEX code, the RGB values and the HSL values, each with its own copy button.

How do I pick a colour?

Move the pointer over the image to preview the colour under it, then click to lock it in and copy the HEX. Picked colours are kept in a row below so you can build a palette. Use Stop picking to freeze the canvas when you are done, and Clear colours to empty the row. Click any saved colour to load its HEX, RGB and HSL back into the readout so you can copy them.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Tap a spot on the image to pick the colour there.

Can I pick from any image type?

Yes, any common image such as JPEG, PNG or WebP works.
