Frequently asked questions
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The photo is read, edited and saved entirely in your browser, so it and its metadata never leave your device.
Can I edit the metadata?
Yes, for JPEG photos. Change the camera make and model, author, copyright, description, software, date taken and GPS location, then press Save changes to download a copy carrying the new EXIF.
How do I add or remove the location?
Type a decimal latitude and longitude in the GPS fields and Save to add or change it, or clear those fields and Save to strip the location. Remove all metadata clears everything at once.
Does editing lower the quality?
No. For a JPEG only the metadata block is rewritten, so the picture itself is untouched and there is no recompression. Stripping a JPEG is lossless too.
Why can't I edit my image?
EXIF lives in JPEG photos. PNGs, screenshots and many edited images carry none. If a photo has no EXIF, the editor opens empty so you can add it, and for a PNG you can press Convert to JPEG first, then fill in the fields.
