What this tool does

Draw with a mouse, a finger or a stylus. A stylus or a finger on a phone usually gives a much more natural line than a mouse.
Or type your name in a handwriting style
Type your name instead and pick from Flowing, Elegant, Casual, Formal or Brush, which is quicker when the look matters more than the hand.
Choose ink colour and pen thickness
Ink colour and pen thickness are both adjustable, so a signature can match blue or black ink on the document it is going onto.
Transparent PNG, auto-trimmed to your signature
The PNG comes out with a transparent background, trimmed to the signature itself, so it drops onto a document with no white box round it.
Private in your browser, nothing uploaded
Everything is drawn and exported in your browser, so your signature is never uploaded to anyone.
Frequently asked questions
Is my signature uploaded anywhere?
No. Your signature is drawn and saved entirely in your browser, and the image is created on your own device. Nothing is ever uploaded, which matters for something as personal as a signature.
Is the background really transparent?
Yes. By default the downloaded PNG has a transparent background, so your signature drops cleanly onto a document, contract or image. You can switch to a white background if you prefer.
Can I type my signature instead of drawing?
Yes. Switch to the type tab, enter your name and pick a handwriting style. It is handy if you do not have a touchscreen or stylus, though a drawn signature is more personal.
Does it trim the empty space?
Yes. When you download, the image is cropped tightly around your signature with a small margin, so there is no large empty border around it when you place it in a document.
Can I use this to sign a PDF?
Yes. Download the transparent PNG and add it to a document, or use it with the Sign PDF tool to place it onto a PDF. It works anywhere you can insert an image.
