Resize PDF is a free tool that scales every page of a PDF to a new size, entirely in your browser with nothing uploaded. Choose A3, A4, A5, Letter, Legal, Tabloid or a custom width and height in millimetres or inches, pick portrait, landscape or match-each-page orientation, set a margin, and choose Fit to keep the whole page visible or Fill to cover the page. Pages that start too big shrink and pages that start too small enlarge, keeping their proportions and keeping text selectable.

Files are processed in your browser and never uploaded.

How to use Resize a PDF

  1. Add your file

Drop your PDF file onto the upload area, or tap the area to choose it from your device.

  2. Run it

Press Resize PDF, Don →. The button stays disabled until there is something to work on, and each file shows its own progress and result.

  3. Start over any time

Nothing is saved on a server, so reloading the page clears everything.

What this tool does

Scale pages to A4, Letter, Legal, A3, A5, Tabloid or custom

Every page is scaled to A4, Letter, Legal, A3, A5, Tabloid or a custom size in millimetres or inches.

Zoom or stretch content in or out for the whole document, selected pages or each page

Zoom or stretch the content in or out, for the whole document, for pages you select, or for each page on its own.

Resizes pages whether they start too big or too small

Pages that are too large and pages that are too small are both handled, so a mixed document comes out consistent.

Fit to keep the whole page or Fill to cover

Fit keeps the whole page visible inside the new size. Fill covers it completely and may crop the edges.

Portrait, landscape or match each page, with optional margins

Set portrait, landscape, or match each page as it was, and add a margin so nothing sits against the trim edge.

Runs in your browser, text stays selectable, nothing uploaded

Pages are rescaled rather than rasterised, so text stays selectable, and the whole thing runs in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The PDF is processed entirely in your browser, so your file never leaves your device. The resized PDF is built right here on your computer.

Will it resize pages that are too big and too small?

Yes. Every page is scaled to the size you choose, so oversized pages shrink to fit and small pages are enlarged, all keeping their proportions. Choose Fit to keep the whole page visible or Fill to cover the page edge to edge.

Can I zoom or stretch the content?

Yes. Use the Zoom / stretch control to scale page content up or down: choose Whole document for one zoom across every page, Selected pages to zoom only certain pages (enter page numbers like 1-3, 5), or Each page to set a percentage on every page individually below the thumbnails. Over 100% zooms in and may crop at the edges; under 100% zooms out and leaves more whitespace.

Which page sizes can I choose?

A3, A4, A5, Letter, Legal and Tabloid, or a custom width and height in millimetres or inches. You can also set orientation to portrait, landscape, or match each original page.

Does it keep text and images sharp?

Yes. The original page content is re-placed at the new size rather than turned into a picture, so text stays selectable and graphics stay crisp.

Is there a file size limit?

There is no fixed limit; it depends on your device's memory since everything runs locally. Very large PDFs use more memory, so on a phone an extremely big file may be slow.
