Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF or the data I enter uploaded?
No. The PDF is read and filled entirely in your browser, so neither the file nor anything you type is ever sent to a server.
What kinds of fields can it fill?
Text boxes, checkboxes, dropdowns, multi-select lists and radio button groups in standard PDF form documents. It reads the existing fields and shows an input for each one, already filled with any current values.
My PDF has no fillable fields, what then?
Then there is nothing here to fill. Many documents look like forms but have no real fields. To add your own text or a signature, use the Sign PDF tool instead.
Can I stop people changing the answers afterwards?
Yes. Tick the lock option before downloading and the filled values are flattened into the page, so they appear as fixed text that can no longer be edited.
Why do some characters not appear?
Filled values use a standard Latin font, so most European text works. Unusual symbols or non-Latin scripts may not encode and can be left blank.
