PDF Editor is a free tool to sign a PDF in your browser. Draw a image on a pad or upload an existing image image, add movable text with a choice of font, size and colour, navigate pages and zoom, and save the edited PDF. You can optionally save one image in your browser so it loads automatically next time. Your PDF and image are never uploaded and stay on your device.

Files are processed in your browser and never uploaded.

How to use Edit your PDF

  1. Add your file

Drop your PDF or Word file onto the upload area, or tap the area to choose it from your device.

  2. Run it

Press Upload image. The button stays disabled until there is something to work on, and each file shows its own progress and result.

  3. Save the result

Press Save PDF, Don. Each finished file keeps a name based on the one you started with, so you can tell the versions apart.

What this tool does

Draw directly on the page

Freehand drawing goes on top of the PDF, which is the quickest way to add a signature, a tick or a circle round something.

Place an image anywhere

Add a logo, a scan of a signature or any picture, then move and size it on the page it belongs on.

Add movable text with font, size and colour

Text boxes can be dragged into position, with a choice of sans, serif or mono, a size and a colour, so an added note matches the document.

Save one image in your browser for next time

One image can be kept in this browser for next time, which saves re-uploading the same signature on every document.

Multi-page navigation and zoom

Move through a multi-page document with previous and next, and zoom in or fit the page to check the placement.

Runs in the browser, no upload

Word .docx files are converted and PDFs are opened, edited and saved entirely in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Are my PDF and image uploaded anywhere?

No. The PDF, your typed text and your image all stay in your browser on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.

Does my image stay saved for next time?

If you tick "Save to this browser" when you draw it, your most recent image is kept on this device and loaded automatically next time. Only one image is stored at a time, so a new one replaces the old. It is removed if you clear site data or use private mode, and it does not sync to other browsers or devices.

Can I add typed text too?

Yes. Add text boxes, drag them where you want, and set the font, size and colour, like a simple PDF editor. Handy for dates, names and notes.

Can I use a image I already have?

Yes. Upload a PNG or JPG of your image and place it on the page. A PNG with a transparent background looks best.

Will it change the rest of my PDF?

No. Your text and image are drawn on top and the original pages are kept exactly as they were.
