Frequently asked questions
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser with nothing uploaded, so it is private and works offline once loaded.
How do I type Sinhala with this?
Type words the way they sound in English letters. For example, ka becomes the Sinhala ka, and doubling a vowel makes it long, so kaa is the long form. The typing guide lists every letter.
How do I get long vowels and special sounds?
Double the vowel for long sounds (aa, ii, uu, ee), use capital letters for some sounds (A, N, L, T), and helpers like the backslash-n for the anusvara. The guide shows them all.
Is the output real Sinhala Unicode?
Yes. It produces standard Sinhala Unicode, so you can copy and paste it into documents, social media, messaging and anywhere else that supports Unicode.
Which transliteration scheme is this?
It follows the widely used SinGlish transliteration scheme, the same approach long used by popular Sinhala real-time converters, so if you already know that style it works the same here.
