Frequently asked questions
Is my recording uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything is recorded and saved on your own device in the browser. The video never leaves your computer, and there is no account or upload.
Can it record the computer's sound?
Yes, on a computer. When the screen picker appears, tick the share audio box. Tab and system sound work best in Chrome and Edge on Windows. On macOS browsers usually capture tab sound only, and Firefox does not capture system sound. Your microphone can always be added on top.
Does it work on a phone?
No. Phone browsers cannot record the screen of other apps, so this is a desktop tool. On a phone, use the built-in screen recorder in the iPhone Control Centre or the Android quick settings instead.
Can I put my webcam over the screen?
Yes. Turn on the camera overlay and a webcam bubble appears on the recording. Drag it on the preview, change its size and shape, and mirror it. Keep the browser tab visible while recording the overlay, since it is drawn by the page.
My recording lagged or used a lot of memory, what helps?
Pick a lower resolution such as 720p or 480p and 30 fps. Plain screen recording without the webcam is the lightest and most reliable, since it records the screen directly. The webcam overlay needs more memory and the tab kept visible.
WebM or MP4?
You can choose either. MP4 records directly in current Chrome, Edge and Safari. If your browser cannot record MP4, the tool falls back to WebM, which every browser and video editor can open.
Which browser works best?
Chrome or Edge on a computer give the most features, including system sound. The webcam overlay and microphone work in all modern desktop browsers.
