Frequently asked questions
Are my GIFs uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion happens entirely in your browser on your device, and your files are never sent to a server.
Why convert a GIF to a video?
Video files like MP4 are far smaller than GIFs for the same content, play more smoothly, and are accepted by many sites and apps that do not allow GIFs, so converting saves space and works in more places.
Which formats can I export?
MP4 (H.264), which is the most widely supported, or WebM. MP4 is the safest choice for sharing and social media.
Will it look the same as the GIF?
Yes, the motion and frames are preserved. Video uses smooth playback, and the file is usually much smaller than the original GIF.
How many can I convert and will my device cope?
Up to 30 at once. Conversion runs on your device using a built-in engine that downloads about 31 MB the first time, so large or many GIFs can take a while, especially on phones. Do a smaller batch if it struggles.
