Frequently asked questions
Is anything recorded or uploaded?
No. The camera and microphone feeds are shown live on your device only. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent anywhere, and everything stops when you close the page.
Why does it ask for permission?
Your browser must ask before any site can use your camera or microphone. The test cannot run until you allow access, and you can revoke it at any time in your browser settings.
My camera or mic will not start, what now?
Make sure no other app is using the device, that you allowed permission, and that you picked the right device in the dropdown. On a phone, check the site has camera and microphone permission.
Can I choose which camera or microphone to test?
Yes. Once you start a test the dropdowns fill with your available devices, and picking a different one switches to it straight away.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, in most modern mobile browsers. You may need to allow camera and microphone access when prompted, and on iPhone it works in Safari.
