Free online PDF editor that runs in your browser
Don's Tools PDF editor lets you edit existing PDF text, add new text and choose fonts, insert images and signatures, draw, highlight and fill shapes, and merge, reorder, rotate or delete pages. It is free with no watermark, works without uploading your files to a server, needs no software install and no account, and runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS in Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox.
Files are processed in your browser and never uploaded.
How to use Edit your PDF
Add your files
Drop one or more PDF or image files onto the upload area, or tap the area to choose them from your device.
Set the options
Choose P Color, P Width and P Opacity. Every setting is on screen before you add a file, so you can see what the tool will do before it runs.
Run it and save
Press Download PDF, Don ↓. The button stays disabled until there is something to work on, and each file shows its own progress and result. Press Download PDF, Don ↓. Each finished file keeps a name based on the one you started with, so you can tell the versions apart.
What this tool does
Edit existing PDF text
Existing text in the PDF can be selected and retyped, which is the difference between editing a document and annotating it.
Choose fonts, bold and italic
Helvetica, Times and Courier are available with bold and italic, so replacement text can be made to match what was there.
Add text boxes
Add a text box anywhere on any page, then move, resize or recolour it like any other object.
Insert images
Insert PNG, JPG or WebP images, position them on the page, and scale them without leaving the editor.
Add a signature by drawing
Draw your signature with the mouse or a finger and place it where it belongs, which is all most signing actually needs.
Fill shapes with colour
Shapes can be filled as well as outlined, with your own colour, width and opacity, and everything is written out in your browser with nothing uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
Is this PDF editor free?
Yes. It is completely free with no watermark, no page limits, no trial and nothing to pay. You can edit, annotate and download as many PDFs as you like.
Are my files uploaded or stored anywhere?
No. The editor runs entirely in your browser, so your PDF is opened and edited on your own device and is never sent to a server. That makes it safe for contracts, invoices and other private documents.
Can I edit existing text in a PDF?
Yes. Choose Edit text and double-click the line you want to change; the original is removed and you retype it in your chosen font. This works on normal digital PDFs. Scanned, image-only pages have no selectable text to edit.
Do I need to install anything or create an account?
No download, no plugin and no sign-up. It works in any modern browser such as Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox, on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS.
