Is anything uploaded or saved?

No. Your text is turned into handwriting on a canvas inside your browser, and the image is made on your own device. Nothing is sent anywhere.

How does it make typing look handwritten?

It draws your text in a real handwriting font and then gently varies each letter's position, angle and size, so the lines look naturally uneven rather than perfectly typed. The messiness slider controls how much.

Can I change the paper and pen?

Yes. Choose ruled, plain or yellow legal-pad paper, turn the red margin line on or off, pick any ink colour, and set the text size and how messy the writing looks.

What do I get when I download?

A PNG image of your handwritten page. If your text is long the page grows taller to fit it all, and you can paste or print the image afterwards.

Why does the handwriting look plain for a moment?

The handwriting fonts load from the web the first time, so there can be a brief moment before they appear. It redraws automatically once the font is ready.
