Weighted grades: each assignment's weight represents its percentage of the total grade. Weights must add up to 100% (or 75% if leaving 25% for a final). If you leave the weight column empty, the calculator uses equal weighting. Nothing uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my weighted grade?

Multiply each assignment score by its weight (as a decimal), then sum them all. For example: homework 85% × 0.20 weight = 17 points; midterm 78% × 0.30 = 23.4 points; project 90% × 0.50 = 45 points. Total: 17 + 23.4 + 45 = 85.4%. This calculator does all that automatically.

What grade do I need on my final to pass?

Use the "What do I need on my final?" tool above. Enter your current grade, the weight of your final exam, and your target grade. The formula is: Required final score = (Target grade − Current grade × (1 − Final weight)) ÷ Final weight. If you need over 100%, you cannot mathematically reach your target.

What is the standard US letter grade scale?

A: 90–100%, B: 80–89%, C: 70–79%, D: 60–69%, F: below 60%. Some schools use +/− grades with tighter ranges. Grades below 70% are generally considered passing for high school; colleges often require a 70% or C for major requirements. Check your syllabus for the exact scale used in your class.
