Private - birthdays stay on your device

Birthday Reminder

Add everyone's birthday once and never forget again. Set as many early reminders as you like at the time of day you choose, then export to your calendar so the alarms fire every year - even when this site is closed.

Private birthdays

Use Hide on a birthday to mark it private. With a password set, locked private birthdays are kept off the list and out of calendar exports. Remove the password (or clear your browser data) and every birthday shows again. This hides from a glance, it is not encryption.

How reminders work

Reminders are delivered through your own calendar, so they work even when this site is closed. Use Add to calendar (per person or all at once) to download a yearly-repeating event for each birthday, with one alarm per reminder you set - for example 7 days before and on the day - each firing at the reminder time you choose above. Open the file once in Google, Apple or Outlook Calendar and it reminds you automatically, every year. Your birthdays stay on this device; the calendar file is the only thing that leaves it.

Files are processed in your browser and never uploaded.

How to use Birthday Reminder

  1. Add your file

Drop your JSON file onto the upload area, or tap the area to choose it from your device.

  2. Set the options

Choose Name, Date of birth, Relationship (optional), 9477xxxxxxx, Email (optional) and e.g. 7. Every setting is on screen before you add a file, so you can see what the tool will do before it runs.

  3. Run it and save

Press Add all to calendar. The button stays disabled until there is something to work on, and each file shows its own progress and result. Press Save birthday, Don →. Each finished file keeps a name based on the one you started with, so you can tell the versions apart.

What this tool does

Recurring yearly birthdays

A birthday is stored once and repeats every year, so you set it up a single time and it keeps coming round on its own.

Unlimited custom early reminders

Add as many early reminders per birthday as you want, for example seven days before, two days before and on the day itself.

Choose the reminder time of day

You choose the time of day the reminders fire, so a morning alert lands in the morning rather than at midnight.

Calendar (.ics) export with alarms

Add all to calendar writes an .ics file with a yearly repeating event and its alarms, so your phone or desktop calendar fires them even when this site is closed.

WhatsApp and email wishes

Each birthday can carry a phone number, an email and a message template, so sending the wish on the day is one tap.

Age and countdown

Every entry shows the age they are turning and how many days are left, which makes the list a countdown as well as a record.

Frequently asked questions

Will the reminders still work if I close this page?

Only if you export them to your calendar. The .ics file carries a yearly repeating event with the alarms you set, so your phone or desktop calendar fires them even when this site is closed. The list on this page is only the place you build them.

Where are the birthdays stored?

In this browser, on this device, using local storage. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account. Clearing your browser data removes them, so use Export backup if you want a copy you can keep.

How many early reminders can I set?

As many as you like per birthday, for example 7 days, 2 days and on the day itself. You also choose the time of day the alarm goes off, so a 9am reminder does not wake you at midnight.

Can I move my list to another phone?

Yes. Press Export backup to save a JSON file, move that file to the other device, and press Import backup there. Everything comes back, including the reminder settings.

Does it handle leap-year birthdays?

Yes. A 29 February birthday repeats yearly and is shown on 28 February in years that have no 29th, which is what calendar apps do as well.
