Social card preview
See how your link looks on X, Facebook and LinkedIn before you share it, right in your browser.
Files are processed in your browser and never uploaded.
How to use Social card preview
Add your text
Type or paste your text into the input box. Everything is handled by your own browser, so nothing is sent to a server.
Set the options
Choose Title, Page URL and Image URL (1200X630). The options are visible from the start, not hidden until you paste something.
Read it and keep a copy
The output updates as you type, so there is nothing to submit and nothing to wait for. Copy tags, Don puts the result on your clipboard.
What this tool does
Previews for X, Facebook and LinkedIn
The same link is previewed as X, Facebook and LinkedIn each render it, because all three crop and truncate differently.
Live image, title and description
Title, description and image update live as you type, so you can see where a title gets cut off before you publish.
Generates matching OG and Twitter tags
The matching Open Graph and Twitter card tags are generated alongside the preview, ready to copy into your head section.
1200x630 guidance
The recommended image is 1200x630, and the preview shows what happens when yours is a different shape.
Works in your browser, no sign-up
Everything runs in your browser, so an unpublished page's title and description are never uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The previews are drawn in your browser from what you type. The only thing fetched is the image at the URL you provide, so you can see how it will be cropped. Nothing else is sent.
Why might the real preview differ?
Social platforms cache previews and may apply slightly different cropping or fonts. This tool shows a close approximation; for a final check use each platform's own debugger to refresh the cache.
What image size works best?
A 1200 by 630 pixel image (1.91 to 1) looks right on X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack and Discord. Keep important text and faces near the centre so nothing important is cropped.
Do I need both Open Graph and Twitter tags?
Open Graph tags cover most platforms, and X uses them as a fallback. Adding twitter:card set to large image ensures X shows the big image rather than a small thumbnail, so the generated snippet includes it.
Can I copy the tags?
Yes. The matching Open Graph and Twitter tags are generated below the preview, ready to paste into your page's head.
