Does it work on every website?
Knight Don darkens virtually any page by inverting its colours while keeping photos and videos looking normal. A few sites with heavy custom layouts may look slightly off — flip the per-site switch and they'll go back to normal instantly.
Is any of my browsing sent anywhere?
No. Knight Don has no servers and no account. It only stores your settings locally in your browser, and it never sends your pages or history anywhere.
Why "Load unpacked" instead of a store button?
This is the direct-install version you can use today. Loading an unpacked extension is Chrome's built-in way to run one from a folder. The exact same files can be submitted to the Chrome Web Store later for a one-click install.
Can I keep a site's own dark theme?
Yes. Open Knight Don on that site and turn off "On this site" — Knight Don steps aside there and stays on everywhere else.
Does it slow pages down?
It applies a lightweight CSS filter, so the impact is tiny. If a particular site feels heavy, the per-site toggle turns it off there.
